Huh! Good to know thanks . I have had partial fills of $1000 lots but never tried to trade a lot that small . I like the limit order rebate they announced too , save me a couple bucks .
There are few threads about MBT here, and all I've heard about them was positive.
Auto-trading or not, with Ninja, this is the same thing, the same thing, if it works with NT in discretionary mode, it will work in auto.
And, with these $1k lots, the test is not expensive (20 $1k lots for a $400 account...).
I have always had problem with range bars in NT. Charts tend to crash or not load. Especially if change time frames on the same chart, i.e. 1 minute to 3 range. Or 3 range to 6 range and back to 3. Always a problem. And since the beginning of the year range bars (tick data) won't load from the previous session. To get around this I have to leave my computer on 24x7 to keep the data seamless. So yeah, it's pretty retardad, hah.
I tried the DT Multi Charts yesterday and it was NICE. Charts loaded up easy, was able to change time frames and range sizes smoothly AND it's so easy to go into market replay. That is awesome. And of course, no problem loading historical tick data.
Only a couple things in MC that bother me. 1) There is a gap between each of the range bars. I made a post on their forum about this. And 2) Up and Down bars can not have their colors changed easily. You have to use a custom paintbar study (indicator) to paint over the bars so up bars are green and down bars are red. Which isn't too big of a deal but it also means the little open and close marks are off-color which is a slight annoyance.
I have been using the SIM on both MBTrading and Dukascopy with the same strategies and both NT native range bars and Better Renko, $EURUSD only. To date I havent had any real issues that I havent seen (before) occasionally with BarChart or Velocity Futures when trading futures.
I have seen occasional corruption of historical data from both forex sources. With Dukascopy I use market analysis to record data from all the 20+ pairs available for some other future analysis and trade scenario development. Sometimes that computer freezes and I do feel it is the motherboard design as I have had issues with that mainboard model on another system. I have to do a hard reset so corruption is always possible/likely under that circumstance.
With the MBTrading I do my main strategy troubleshooting, and do get an occasional annoying overfill, but with 8 charts running basically the same strategy on either same size range bars or same size Better Renko I can can see order collisions happening when use of same account for SIM. And that was part of the testing as well ... to push the limits to see what I can and cant do.
Hey Sam , I havent traded a $1000 lot yet and was wondering if you were indeed doing just that . You're entering .1 lots as quantity on navigator , correct ?
