Morad Askar began as a high frequency
NASDAQ equities day trader in 2000. He moved to Chicago to a prop firm to be a high volume futures
scalper at the
CBOT. He is a member of CME Group and a licensed Eurex Trader, and started his own prop firm in 2003.
In 2009, Morad began to explore the online trading environment and popularized the concept of Volume Profiling as a way of tracking the market auction and trading based on the market narrative. He has gained a large social media following on Twitter and a large subscriber base on YouTube. He does a daily live broadcast at 9 AM ET called the Trader Bite on YouTube which lays out his perspective on what is likely to take place. He is well known online as FuturesTrader71 (FT71).
Morad launched Convergent Trading in 2018 to focus his experience running a prop firm to bring the tools, structure and focus to those how are serious about being career professional traders. He also started Edge Clear as a brokerage in 2020; an independent futures brokerage with an award-winning team.
Family time and global travel are Morad’s favorite ways of spending time.
In 2001, FuturesTrader71 (
FT71) left a successful career in engineering to pursue trading full time. After trading individual equities for a couple of years, he transitioned to trading futures in 2003. Eventually, FuturesTrader71 would start and run his own proprietary trading firm. Along with being owner, operator, and trader, he also developed and implemented the training program for the traders at his firm.
By the end of 2004, FuturesTrader71 also started getting more involved with the retail trading community via public trading forums. After seeing the obstacles faced by retail traders, he began using Twitter to actively interact with traders and started a blog in 2009. He posted his first webinar in October of the same year. He currently has over 60 webinars posted on his site. His increased involvement with retail traders led to creating a 4-part webinar series designed to address many of the same topics contained in his proprietary training process.
FuturesTrader71 started his trading career
scalping individual equities. At the time, he traded via the
DOM and relied on
order flow. After experimenting with most of the traditional technical analysis tools, he began integrating
Market Profile into his trading methodology as he migrated from scalping to short-term intraday trades. Leveraging some of the core concepts from Market Profile, he shifted his focus to
Volume Profile.
Morad Askar started Edge Clear brokerage in April 2020. The main discussion thread for Edge Clear is located below:
