I use ToS. It has a simulator that I use to replay the market, and practice trading. But the most current day available for replay is a week old. I would like to be able to trade the current day that just ended so it is still fresh in my mind. Is there any platforms that offer replay of the most recent trading day of regular trading hours? https://nexusfi.com/images/smilies/animated/becky.gif
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thank you. I have only traded using TDAmeritrade and Thinkorswim. Do you know if I have ti change brokers to use Ninjatrader? I will go to their web site and explore UT, but in my experience, answers to questions take quite a while to find. If you could giveme a head start, I would be appreciative. I am not yet a pro trader so I am looking to keep it simple as possible. trying to avoid paying monthly fees for use of platform and other separate services line data feeds, etc.
Yes, you will need to change broker unless the TD offers futures through its standard platform. Check with them. You can use a TD 32 bit version through ninja which limits memory. This is ok if you only have up a couple of charts though. You cannot use the TOS through ninja. I use TD for stocks but not futures. I'm still waiting for them to offer 64 bit through ninja which frankly is unacceptable it's taking so long.
Are you replaying to get better at using your trading platform, or to practice the complex of real-time analysis and decision-making involved in day trading? If it's the second choice, I think it would be more beneficial to replay a day where you don't remember what's going to happen next. Of course if you have a really really good memory, that will be hard to do
