6:49am: 15 minutes – Just kept having to refocus my thoughts as a consistent stream of chatter flowed.
5:57pm: 8 minutes (split the next 15 minutes into two sessions) – Quite a bit of chatter but I was able to recognize it and redirect in a more relaxed way than this morning. Felt like I got a little “deeper” too.
9:51pm: 7 minutes – Lot of chatter, but just kept redirecting and relaxing.

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
There is a big difference between meditation and concentration, what a lot of us are doing is concentration exercises which a good way of making us aware of our thoughts. We do need to focus the mind before we can really undertake the skill of mediation. But we have to start somewhere.

Only 3 days into this and I'm already cutting this thread short. But there's a good reason.
To be honest I'm a little surprised at the interest in this subject and thread (based on the “Thanks” on the intro page and the number of views since it started).
My intent was to share what I've learned, but, as is often the case, I was the one who was enlightened.
Only 2 days into this thread @fibfisherman shared a link that I followed and after a couple more clicks I found myself discovering something that cleared up a lot of things regarding meditation for me and gave me a different framework from which to pursue this.
I apologize to all of you who have taken the time to follow and/or subscribe to this thread, but the journey doesn't end here.
I've created a new thread that will go in the same general direction but at a slightly different angle. I'm hoping it will help me as well as all of you in our pursuit of this "meditation thing."
Thank you all for your interest and input.
