Hello,
I struggle every day with following a plan. I have found trading just the SPY options on break of afterhours high or low to be profitable. However, I also believe since it is boring, I start playing around by not waiting for the break, guessing it is going to reverse etc. I consistently lose money on trades other than the one I plan for. This is me learning the hard way. I need to have some tool that will keep me from off railing into the gun slinger mode and just be profitable and content with just 250.00 every day. I also know what I need, control myself, listen to the voice in my head, stop playing around. My question is why won't I do what I know to do?
I acknowledge all the great men and women here in this community. We are all sitting around a fire and planning our next day.
I was a former member of a few commodity exchanges back when there were pit trading. I retired from the business many years ago when I started to see the impact of computers and it's technological advances beginning to affect the traditional ways of making money. I spent several years trying to trade from upstairs, and like many of the floor traders back then, wasn't able to make it work. I've been away from these markets for many years, until recently.
A friend asked me to look at the current state of daytrading. I was curious about the current state of technology and software development. I was blown away with the demise of physical pit trading and the advent of computerized trading! So, I'm in catch-up mode to see how I can capitalize on the current environment with my past knowledge. Consider this an "arbitrage" situation wherein I take my past experiences and apply it to the current environment.
And, thanks to all members in advance of my new journey to learn about all markets.
I am a beginner in trading. I started to years ago and I have realized that you need to deep into more and more training. And not only this but also to get and share real experiences. As you probably know, when you start you are really alone. The loneliness of a home trader is a fact.
This is the reason to enter in a community like this. This is the first community for me in trading.
I hope I can learn from real experimented traders and also share my knowlewdge and experience with the new ones.
Relatively new trader here from Slovenia. Would like to give my thanks to Mike and the others who keep everybody honest and prevent people from going into wrong directions with their trading. Got a question about a vendor, a strategy ect... there is a high chance you will get you answer here. Been lurking here for quite some time, but have never officially signed up
