Regarding the blue line in the updated image for the contest winners:
That user contacted me complaining how unfair I was that I disqualified him for not following our rules. The rules were simple and laid out in advance, one of which was to display the NexusFi logo in the entry.
He argued that by displaying a screenshot of a post, he was in fact displaying our logo -- saying that a portion of our website and our logo are the same thing. Huh?
Anyway, his next message to me a few hours later then told me he wanted everything deleted. What a sore loser, and such a terrible attitude to have when things don't go your way. I believe this combination is not a good fit for trading, and I hope he takes action to deal with this type of emotion, because it will likely cause harm during real live cash trading.
In fairness to this guy, he was also upset that he won an autographed book 5 years ago or so during a webinar, that he never received. That was my fault and I of course took responsibility and told him and the other winners that it was my fault when the books were lost during my move to Ecuador. But he says he has contacted me numerous times over the years, demanding (my paraphrasing) the book. He seems to think I selectively targeted him or something just to cause him harm, when the truth is I have no idea who he was until he told me. With over 100,000 members on the site, I assure you it's pretty hard to keep a personal mental note of any particular member.
Anyway, since I have now deleted his posts, you won't be able to see them (by his demand). But rest assured, he did not display our logo (I verified it with other people before reaching the decision, to ensure I wasn't just missing it somewhere). As part of his deletion, his username is now marked out in blue on the Excel spreadsheet image I posted.
This post just serves as an explanation for that blue line in the image. But also a word of wisdom to others: don't be a sore loser.
The winners have been contacted, and all the gift cards are in the process of being issued. Due to the holiday, please allow a couple extra days for our sponsors to get the gift cards issued.
Thank you to all that participated, and to our sponsors.
I didnt see a logo in his post either. If I remember correctly from his profile thing on the side, he had like 3 posts in 4 years and never liked anyone elses ideas. Doesn't strike me as a person that contributes and gets involved but then throws his toys because he cant follow a simple rule.
It is my pleasure to announce a new challenge event for October 2018: Battlestations!
With this event, we are encouraging members to share pictures of their trading desks. We will be giving away $500 in Amazon Gift Cards for this event, plus $447 in autographed trading books, split into (3) as follows: 1st place $250 Amazon Gift Card + autographed copy of the Global Macro Edge, 2nd place $150 Amazon Gift Card + autographed copy of the Global Macro Edge, 3rd place $100 Amazon Gift Card + autographed copy of the Global Macro Edge.
These prizes are provided exclusively by Stage 5 Trading, a site sponsor on NexusFi. Please thank Stage 5 for their contributions to our community, and for agreeing to exclusively sponsor the October Battlestations event!
There are just a few simple rules to follow:
a) The contest begins October 1 and ends October 31. All decisions made by NexusFi are final.
b) One of the photos in your post must show the NexusFi logo on our website. Don't forget!
c) Take a selfie or have someone take a picture of you at your desk! For at least one of the photos, we want to see your face! We are making this optional but highly recommended.
d) The photos need to be uploaded here on NexusFi. No linking to external sites. No videos.
e) You may submit multiple photos (please do!) -- but only your first post in this thread, containing photos, posted between October 1 and October 31, and following our rules, will be considered for the contest.
f) Winners will be chosen by counting the numbers of "Thanks Received" on each qualifying post.
I am looking forward to seeing a lot of great trading desks! Please remember to follow the rules, and please remember to vote by hitting the "Thanks" button.
Thank you to Stage 5 Trading Brokerage as the exclusive site sponsors for this event, donating the (3) Amazon gift cards totaling $500 for this event, plus the (3) autographed copies of Global Macro Edge, by John Netto, a value of $447.

HI there,
Two quick questions...
1. is the 'showing nexusfi.com logo new? I didn't see it in most of the pics I looked at from a search on battlestations.
2. is the 'showing your face' new? and...how critical is it? that's a non-starter for me (I don't even have a pic on FB, LOL)
1. This is an old thread, and the contests are very new (this is the second one). So most of the earlier pics, which were posted before either contest, will not conform to the current contest rules. There were no rules in the thread before the contests.
2. The logo rule was in the first contest. In fact, the rules for this contest are exactly the same as the first contest. A lot of entries for the first contest (including one that would have been one of the winners except for this rule) did not have the logo, perhaps because many traders didn't read or understand the rules. But the rule was there.
3. The showing your face thing was in the first contest's rules too. And, in both contests, it was described as "We are making this optional but highly recommended," which I think answers your question about it. If you don't put it in, it won't affect your standing. (Anything I say is unofficial, but there is no other way to read this, either.)
Mike may want to make an official reply to your questions, but I wanted to give it a shot (unofficially) because I saw pic after pic in the first contest where someone just didn't include the logo, and I kept wanting to say, "Hey, put the logo in!" Since I didn't speak up then, when I should have, I'm doing it now, in hopes that people will see this and not make that mistake this time around. Put the logo in.
