In trading there is nothing to make happen. No amount of money, no superior degree of negotiating, no number of hours... there is no "problem" to fix. The market is never wrong.

Being still, listening, waiting, pausing, watching, digesting, resting. And then being ready to strike without hesitation or doubt. And then being ready to change your mind if the situation changes, staying open to listening, watching...

I love reading through your posts GaryD, I always see to find something pertinent to my current state of trading.

I am watching for the 6E to look happier, or not

EDIT: After the close I revisited this trade. I had thought that would be a good one today; equities racing higher, crude racing higher, and euro pulling back to a support zone with volume confirmation. Weird day though, and both crude and equites made a sharp reversal.

How so?

If I used DTN IQ Feed, as I thought was the service that was desired with Sierra, on top of the $45.00 montly Sierra cost;

Monthly Basic Fee: $88.00
Monthly Exchange Fees: $76.00 (Nymex)
Monthly Premium Fees: $0.00
MONTHLY RECURRING FEES: $164.00 (+45.00)

I guess I could use another data provider.

CME fee waiver should include the $76 for Nymex.

What broker are you using with NinjaTrader? I imagine they are supported with Sierra Chart. So it's not fair to say one is more expensive than the other if you are not comparing apples-to-apples. You could likely use your free broker feed in Sierra if you wanted.

Yes, Zen-Fire is supported. I downloaded the software and am going to look at it.

Yes, this should work great actually. Sierra is $421 per year, Ninja is $600. For 6 months, $243 vs. $330, for quarterly $129 vs $180, and for a single month $45 vs not available And this is Sierra's top package with all features, plus you can run as many copies with as many data feeds and brokers as possible. For NT add 50% on top of the above prices for the ability to do that if it's needed. Also, the Sierra license allows you to install SC on as many different computers as you like, and you can run it on up to two computers concurrently, which is a nice bonus.

I won't gush over SC anymore, but Gary, if you need help with anything in your trial period, post on the Sierra section of futures.io (formerly BMT) and mention me in the post and I'll be glad to help. When I first tried Sierra 2 years ago I hated it because I just couldn't transition from the NT way of doing things (read: I was lazy and didn't want to be bothered ), but I made a concerted effort this time and have not looked back. So if you encounter any "huh?" moments, just post and I assure you that it's almost certainly easy to solve, and very logical, and I'll be happy to help. Maybe you will like it, maybe you won't, but either way if you give it a real try then at least you know for sure.

Agree with @josh assessment. Solid platform. Biggest complaint; Very tedious to setup (same as josh- I am lazy and want my instant gratification!) but once you get past that it is great to use. IMO Sierra's chart trader blows NT's away. Being able to see and adjust your stops/targets on the chart before the order is executed is awesome. The trade statistics are far more detailed as well and dare I say more accurate. Just my 2 cents..

OK, you caught me. I downloaded it, thought, ?, and decided NT was not that bad.
