I personally think he is a very smart man with great, innovative ideas! Who else has been doing what he does without trying to kill us with toxic materials, or make more money, etc? He deserves more credit!
What happens in the future when you get run over by a self driving car? Do you sue the "driver" or the manufacturer of the car? Will this be considered a "no fault accident"? I think everyone should drive a car with two hands on the wheel at all times. I also think Elon Musk is multitasking way too much. In my opinion, he should dump Tesla and focus only on SpaceX and Hyperloop.
I think he showed he is human. I am sure the ego is large. But I find it funny one month he is the greatest thing, then he says something stupid and is now a villain.
Kinda reminds me of Trump over the years being herald as a savvy business man by the media...
I like Musk and I think he and Trump have something in common. Tweet less.

Death rates on US roads are rising and despite safer cars** now exceed levels over a decade ago. Over 100 people get killed every single day on US roads. Why does nobody care about either of those numbers but are petrified of automated cars? Why does everybody think they are an above average driver? Why are people scared to fly on airplanes when they have a greater chance of dieing in a car crash on the way to the grocery store? Probably because they have an irrational confidence in their own abilities and an irrational fear of things they can't control and don't understand, whatever the statistics may show.
** I think this is actually a big point. Cars are so much safer today than they were just a few years ago, never mind decade's ago. So why do we have more deaths? Because people have become worse drivers! How have they become worse? Texting & Mobile Phones. Your right people should drive with two hands on the wheel but they don't. If the choice is automated cars versus cars with people facebooking as they drive, I think the choice is easy.
Nailed it. Nobody wants to drive any more, too busy thumb fucking the device. Excuse my German, but I for one am damn tired of it. Been rear ended twice sitting at a stoplight by a "driver" too busy playing with their phone, and nearly run off the road countless times by cars coming the other way drifting out of their lane.
Self-driving cars are the only form of mass transit that everyone in this country wants. Coming from a guy who has loved to drive his entire life, I think it's one of the best ideas since sliced bread.
