Prior Month Close 48.60 and prior month haft way back are holding it down for now...
Of course, Monday OPEC Meeting and TUE API report helped it getting there during this summer slow volume trading.

As promise here is my Gold GC pre-Rollover Analysis after FOMC Day; however, you have to promise me to go back and review chart with what I wrote
from "1Shot2Kill.Journal#4 Cypher pattern of the week"... Otherwise, you may not understand what I am trying to explain: "what the heck is going with Gold".

Oh, I loaded up the boat for 11 Contracts after 3amEST but GC was going no where slowly for 5 hours (just 3 points total)... so I have to scaled out and ended up with only 1Runner... CryOL!
It started to break-out around 1pmEST even before the announcement... but not until Bond Market closed; then Pop, Pop, and Pop right at 3:01pmEST.
If you are not already in it, then you missed the boat! Overall, 20 points ATR for FOMC Day is "nothing" compare to past history... Think triple or double it!
I am going to reward myself with a nice dinner and LIME-a-RITA now.

Yep, Fibonacci Ratio of half way back Long 2462 from 2448 to 2476 Targeting T1 -23.8% 2483 T2=-38.2% 2487 and T3=-61.8% 2492.

GC 3M traded buCypher ptC 1260.50 at 6amEST (about the same time as cousin CL traded ptC 48.54--must be algos at work). However, they are both struggle to break out of Over Night High right now.
In the meantime, ES wants nothing but going higher since 2471 YLow was holding up at closing.
So who is going to give up? CL or GC?
