Thanks for the reply, but your $100 goes for... what exactly? Indicators I may or may not need, but I have no idea what they are in advance. The wise trader, in fact the wise consumer of any product, does not shell out money for something they can't see in advance---how do you know what you're getting? This is the "black box" effect, or the "pig in a poke" if you're an old timer like me.
If you can convince novices to pay $100 for something unknown, I would be surprised (but maybe I shouldn't be!). It does seem unwise, however, to pay for something without even being able to see what it is. Do you understand my concern?

Here is how to know: take a look at the free section of the site. Has it helped you at all?

If it has, rest assured there is even MORE helpful stuff in the Elite section. Better conversations, downloads, webinars, etc.

If it has not, then Elite probably will not benefit you.

For me, the free section was good enough to convince me that Elite would be good too. I was not disappointed.

Good Luck!

Have you done the research to try and find out what's in the elite section? I'm pretty sure Mike has a description on what you all get... I originally signed up mainly to use gomi indicators and never used them due to edge changing and figuring out what works for me.... sorry to say but in this game you're going to lose some cash it socks but you gotta take the leap sometimes... now 7 people just commented on why you should sign up and out of those 7 there are a handful who are very active on this forum and give lots of wisdom and advice away (not talking about my self ☺) as the saying goes..... shit or get off the pot

Also consider this... over 100K elite traders in this group can't be all wrong. There are too many things in life that are missed out because we dont want to take a chance. How ironic that you are in this trading forum asking this question where the chances of success is always 50/50 or 50/3000 if you let your losers run . Go figure...

For me, it is just being part of this group. I dont need any indicators or other offers. 8 ticks in ES will let you be part of this group for life, that gives me more than anything that is out there for traders, least what i have found so far.

no rush, put 4 Quarters aside each day, come back after 100 days and see if you are still curious what all that about. If not (you find something better during that time) treat yourself to a nice massage with the money you wisely save.

I was the same and now here I am helping moderate forum and do webinars. The webinars alone are worth the Elite Membership.

Just to be clear for the guy considering Elite membership:

There are 106K total members at this site. A much smaller number than that has ponied up the fee to become Elite. I don't think Mike gives that number out. I'd guess 5-10K Elite members, and of those, maybe a few hundred are active currently. Just guesses on my part.

But whether it is 5 Elite members or 50,000, the info "behind the wall" is well worth $100.

I actually remember battling with the decision for a few days before I did sign up. Now I look back at that and find it quite funny.

In all seriousness, there are probably at least 4-6 long journal threads in the elite section which if they were repackaged and sold would be a couple thousand each alone.

Completely worth it as it helps support the board. It also offers a different level of knowledge for people who are serious about this business.

The discounts alone that are available from numerous vendors are well worth the price of the membership.

There is plenty of honest vendor reviews on this site, so people do criticize what they think of as not worth their money or time on here.

Yet I have never seen a single elite member post that they regret parting with the $$ for elite membership. I for one have gotten a multiple back from the Elite Member Deals alone (NT license, Tradervue discount, ....)

The true value however is in the posts, the journals and the people active „over there“.

the thing that makes me wary about purchasing elite membership is that i get the sense there isn't much substantive activity on this forum based on my interactions in the 'non-elite' sections of this forum. i wouldn't say it's exactly a ghost-town but it certainly feels dead at times.

maybe there is a ton more activity in the elite section but there's no way to find out.

it would certainly help if bigmike was more transparent about the monthly costs of maintaining this site. it would allow us to determine if the $100 price he has set is a fair price to cover the bills or if he's profiting exorbitantly. based on what i can see from the non-elite section of this forum, bigmike's aggressive, ironfist attitude doesn't exactly inspire trust in him. plus he may be earning a ton of affiliate and/or advertising commissions from brokers/data providers/platforms/etc, which should cover the server costs of maintaining this site.

so why create an elite section and charge $100 for it? it is most likely not b/c he needs to cover the bills to maintain this website (this is not a video/media intensive site hogging tons of data, it's most text with indicator files) but b/c it's a way to make more money and it's prob the highest amount he thought he could charge before introducing a lot of resistance/hesitance from people thinking about joining.

i have no problems with someone trying to make the most profit from a business. that's what capitalism is about. i just don't find a lot of the arguments present in this thread (he needs help to maintain server costs!; it's nothing in terms of the cost of futures trading!) very persuasive. might as well just be truthful and admit that you're just trying to profit and call it a day. no ones forcing anyone to buy an elite membership geez.
