Don't cut @Tasuki 's head off here guys - There is some merit to his question.
Sure we all know that the Elite section has lots to offer:
Provides access to dozens of trading webinars
Provides access to upcoming webinars
Provides access to a generally more advanced group of traders
Provides access to successful traders that share idea's, opinions, journals and thoughts
Provides access to online resources on software, integrations, indicators and stuff
etc
And for the price, it truly is just 2 or 3 points on the ES isn't it.
But I do understand that people are signing up for a black box. I think when you join you get some welcoming letters from @Big Mike detailing what Elite is and what it's not but it might not hurt giving people trial access to like the 1st 4 pages of every thread and no attachments, or just some screen shots about the content that's there to better explain the value of Elite for people contemplating. After all, every month or so this topic keeps coming up.
This industry is rigged with charlatans, market signal sellers, course guys, guru's and what have you so it could be hard to believe that there actually is a place where traders, both successful and trying to get successful share, discuss and help.
I've been a member from the beginning. I've never regretted the cost .
I've spent thousands prior to this forum on snake oil. The things learned here on avoiding scams, reviews, tradings friends and much more is "priceless".
In the elite section I assure you it is not a ghost town.
I am on the site multiple times a day and each time there are at least a page of "new posts" for me to check out.
I appreciate all the feedback from everyone, but honestly it's rather simple and has been covered so many times in the last nine years ---
a) Those that ask this question usually don't care to spend the time to find out the answer themselves
b) They aren't active on the site
c) They aren't serious about learning or improving
Saying they don't know what they are buying makes no sense to me. When someone tries to access an Elite content page, they are shown a nice detailed message (I'll post a screenshot below) that makes it super clear.
And as mentioned, the "welcome" posts new members receive describe the other (and to me, most important) part of our community - the sense of being a part of something, instead of focusing on materialistic reward for the investment of Elite. That is something that takes more text to convey, so it doesn't fit well in a line-item spreadsheet chart. I also think it speaks for itself, to most people anyway, when they are browsing the site and reading the free content.
Obviously, the above are generalizations and clearly won't apply to every single person in the situation. But in nine years and >100k people, I have seen enough "case studies" to draw a few conclusions.
Plus, free members are getting a "trial" the entire time they are non-paying members. A never-ending trial. To say they aren't sure what is on the other side makes no sense to me. The webinars landing page has >300 webinars listed, they know what is there. They can click on each of the Elite subforums from the main forum home page, and they can see the titles, the activity, the posts, dates. They simply can't read the thread. They can see the thousands of indicators in the download section, they simply can't download them.
Most importantly, they can see the community answering people's questions in the non-Elite section. Being helpful, sharing, posting trades. This is what you are buying, a stake in our community. Not some indicator. Naturally, it's a business and a successful one, so it is marketed. But I believe if you ask most people they will tell you the same thing, supporting the site is the actual purchase - not something you can download.
So please don't tell me you don't know what you are getting.
What they buy with their membership is a stake in the community. Skin in the game. That is why our community is so much different than the others. Our forum isn't full of junk posts, trolls and petty fighting - like others - because we filter out those kinds of people and activity, by enforcing a firewall at the front door.
And honestly, I don't want to "convince" anyone to join that doesn't automatically see the value. Why would you twist someone's arm and force them into your home, if they don't want to be there? That isn't going to make for pleasant conversations and interactions.
Most people who become Elite do so within a month of being on the site. Those that have been here months and even years without being Elite have made their choice, let them be with it.
Our goal with the community is to help those who want to be helped! Not force help upon those who don't wish it.
Last, as for the amount of money the site makes and whether or not I should be allowed to profit in some way -- I believe all my posts over the years answer this question very openly and transparently -- from my trade journals clearly demonstrating my primary source of income, to the advertising/sponsorship breakdowns, and the open sharing of my day-to-day life in my main thread. It's just that there is no convincing people who are deadset on thinking one way or another, and I don't wish to waste my time/energy trying. Those that claim to know one way or the other haven't even read the data, so how could they possibly know?
As an Elite Member, you would never see it. It's basically an error page letting them know they are trying to get to Elite content behind the firewall.
Spend some time in free area and take a good look. See and read postings by others. If that does not convince you to become an elite member, that is fine as well.
There are tons of info for sure, but the main reason I became a member was to say thank you to people who are running this site.
So far, it looks like Pa Dax is the only one who gets it. I looked at the list of stuff you get with the paid membership, and nothing there stands out as being worth a hundred bucks. For example, the trading world is awash in free trading webinars. Do you know how many free videos come through my inbox every week? Dozens upon dozens, every single week. All of them free, at least half of them worthwhile. Yeah, OK, not all of them, but if you only subscribe to good trading websites, you get more free videos than you can possibly watch in a lifetime. Some of them, like those from Market Geometry, are so good that you have to watch them over and over, and there are just so many hours in a day. As it is, I don't have the time to watch a tenth of the free webinars that are offered in my Inbox. So, bottom line, an active trader wouldn't necessarily find 325 trading webinars to be a good reason to shell out money. Ditto for the indicators. There might be something I could use buried among your 1503 indicators offered behind your paywall, but every trading platform that dares to remain competitive provides dozens to hundreds of free, built-in indicators, and there's just so many you can squeeze on a chart! (and besides which, they're all lagging, well, almost all).
Actually, from what I've seen so far, the most valuable part of Futures io seems to be its sense of community. Lots of forums are moderated and keep out the trolls, Big Mike, but yours is one of the very few that feels like a family. That's not something you're likely to find in the Tradestation forums, or the ToS forums, or EliteTrader, or even Trader's Lab. The fact that so many members have responded to support your elite membership is quite impressive.

I do believe, sir, that you have answered your own question When I think about all the shit I've wasted $100 on.. not just in trading, but in life.. it's a no-brainer. This place and the people here are awesome. I appreciate the fact that you recognize the value behind a community, it has been invaluable to me. If you decide to join, I hope you find the same.
