Wyckoff Analytics and Gary Fullett are two of the major resources for trading education on Wyckoff method. Does anyone have experience with them ? Are they good intra-day traders ?
They are educators and brokers who (among others) will give you their interpretation of the method developed by Wyckoff who himself was an educator and broker.
Why not go to the source directly in the first place?
Wyckoff left us with a great legacy (in the form of his books and a course) which, when studied, will make you aware of important eye opening (at least for me) aspects of trading like:
"There are those who think they are studying the market -- what all they are doing is studying what someone said about the market -- not what the market said about itself"
or
"Listen to what the market is saying about others, not what others are saying about the market"
This requires a lot of work & screen time (and the guts to take responsibility). How to analyze a market is one thing. To trade it is something completely different.
Wyckoff Analytics is outstanding, imo. Absolutely nothing wrong with studying the material referenced above (or taking the original Wyckoff course), but for my learning style (hands on, interactive) WA was far superior for my educational needs.
My question is , are Roman and Bruce good intraday traders ?
I've watched a WA video on swing trading and one on intra-day trading. My impression is, those are too theoretical or academic to be practical, and they don't seem like good intraday traders. However, I'd like to have comments from traders who have experience with them.
Markets are fractal (my belief, anyway) and the Wyckoff Method can be used on any timeframe. I use it to day trade and swing trade using what Roman has taught me. Bruce does the weekly market review with Roman and the PnF courses, but is not part of the core WA courses. Roman can definitely trade very well intraday - I participated in a trading room with him several years ago. He just prefers swing trading because good swing trading will generally make you more money with a lot less work (my words and experience, not his).
I always tell people the WA material and Wyckoff Method in general are extremely valuable no matter how you decide to trade because it provides a very solid foundation for defining market structure, incorporating information not related to price (volume), and determining what large money is doing. You can use all of those things with any kind of trading approach / strategy.
I'm not sure what you mean about being too theoretical. My experience suggests if you go into something related to trading with doubts, you will likely end up not trusting / using the information. So, perhaps stay away? I know quite a few very successful Wyckoffians. David Weis and Dr. Gary Dayton are also Wyckoff instructors and they both trade intraday. I have worked with them as well. I personally prefer WA because it offers a much more thorough review of the entire Wyckoff Method and goes a lot more into market structure. The Method definitely works, but that does not mean it is for everyone.
I have WA material but I also have Gary Fullett's material plus he has a free live room. He also provides a daily newsletter of his analysis on various markets. For me, Fullett offers better value for the money than the others who do Wyckoff or VSA.
I definitely need to be in Gary's room during trading hours as he has kept me on the right side of the market during trades as he gives lives commentary in his room. Because of him I realized that my analysis was off and there was something I missed.
I found the WA guys, while good, overcomplicate things with their terminology however they are good for the big picture view of things.
Appreciate your comments and I agree with you. I have videos from both and I like Gary better. "Gary's room" you talked about, is it the free public room at Adobe Connect ?
Actually his daily live room I think is only for subscribers but he does a free session that anyone can attend one night a week I think where he reviews the charts. I know in the past those used to be free but not sure about now. Okay I just checked yes he has a free class on Sun nights at 9 pm EST where he talks about Wyckoff principles.
I also received quite a few private mentoring sessions with him awhile back.
