Same issue now. So is there a way to trade Silver with IB now? It doesnt offer the Silver at all not mentioning the mini versions. Those 1000 unces contract was just perfect match to my account options.

For a small number of markets IB uses the same symbol for the big and mini/micro contracts. For silver they use SI for both the regular SI contract and the micro SIL contract. The multiplier can be changed on the contract selection screen using the drop down.
