I`m searching guys with a small number of subscribers. They are more legit:
These guys trade for a living.
1. The Pit Futures Trading
2. Trading with Travis
3. Trading with Mike
4. Just Some Guy Trading - this guy won World Cup Trading Championships. Much more winners in this competition but they don`t have a yt channel.
I see a flaw in that logic. You're not completely wrong but perhaps this generalization is too broad.
This thread tends to be looking for confirmation about youtubers. The counter-confirmation argument might be your preference, but the majority here appear to be on the flip side of that conversation.
Recently found this trader on YouTube. He gives live pre-morning technical perspective for several future markets and a few equities. He is very entertaining with his style in a mature way, no screaming, flashing light or music!
Having spent over six digits on education and indicators, I would agree that the above would have helped me in the beginning. Two of them stand out to me, Number 3 is the big one with number 4 closely behind.
I recently purchased an indicator from a Vendor I had watched on YT. while in their trading group I noticed the "members" show their large profits almost every day. What I also notice is many of them do not show the right side of the platform showing if it is a live account. Often times if it is shown you can see "Sim". My point being number 4 can often be used to mislead others who salivate when they see the payouts on their posted trades for the day.
I was a subscriber to Etienne, but that was mentioned already. I would NOT pay for his subscription again. He is marketing himself all over YT.
I wont give a list of who to stay away from, but I have a few to consider;
Vincent Desiano does a live pre market every morning. He has been a blessing.
Mitch Ray TA is good, but again, I paid for a monthly subscription and would not do it again. But if you can watch for free, he is educational.
Ron Walker, aka The Chart Pattern trader, does a video every few evenings. He also provides TA on many charts that can be educational.
I do like Trade Brigade. He does offer free and paid indicators, but they are affordable.
I have learned to be skeptical of Vendors who charge enormous amounts for education (called a trading room) and enormous amounts for indicators. But they never show their trading history. More and more it appears to me they use the revenue from their education/indicators to fund their trading habits.
"When searching for a trading mentor, ask yourself the following questions:
1. Does the person have professional trading experience (proprietary, institutional, pit trader, market maker, etc)?
2. Does the person have over 10 years of professional trading experience?
3. Does the person have a consistent track record of successful trades?
4. Can the person show audited records of his trades?
If the answer is no to either question #1, #2, or #3, then it's a hard pass. Question #4 is optional."
I agree in theory with the 4 points you referenced in your post. The problem is there is no way to verify any of the points in question. This has been addressed many times in the past. Experience, Trading records and audit records are easily fabricated.
There are many people who can trade on paper but don't do it live. It doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about.
"Those who can, do ... those who can't teach"!
Trading is almost exclusively a mental endeavor. There are a hundred different ways to trade and all of them can work if the trader has the mental makeup to do it!
Persistence! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not ... nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not ... Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not ... The world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent! Calvin Coolidge
I agree with that. If I didnt make a distinction between those who trade live and those who trade Sim, I should have. I am trying to say there is or should be a distinction between traders and Vendors. Vendors should be transparent and accountable if they sell a product. When I mentioned folks using Sim, when they show their stats in this particular room, I dont think these are traders, but grunts helping the Vendor.
I asked one of the santas little helpers recently why they didnt trade live in the room with the 1000 dollar indicator? And I was told it would not be helpful. Of course, I disagree. I think one of my recent disappointments was when they advertised the indicator on YT, after watching their charts in the room, they have multiple indicators being used, I dont bark at them for confluence, but they never mention this on their channel when they advertise this "stand alone" product.
I discovered some time ago that they are numerous resellers of trading courses on the Net. So instead of paying $5000 you can get the same course for $20. Sure, you don't get access to the updates, forums, s and what not, but at least you can get an idea if the course is for you.
