Had a couple hick ups restarting the platform but the order desk got it fixed quickly.
I managed to scalp 18 lots and was around 70 at one point but I got a little. Big a 3 lot on a short and pieced out of it due to end of day.
Overall was a good last hour in the sense that I was getting to know the cell phone dome and it's quirks. Slower than a desk top for sure. My phone also needs to have some adjustments to speed up the program. A lot going on in the background .
Gross was up 36 net should be roughly up 15 dollars.
What no one sees I'm my performance is that on my 3 lot short I was at one point down 176 on that trade but I held because overall I was down 100 and it felt heavy up there and it sold off. Myax drawdown was probably 110 today due to the fact that I had closed out profits of around 80 before my max drawdown
All anyone usually sees is the end result and getting there is never easy.
My biggest difficulty on the phone was switching back and forth between trading Dom and trading view for my chart. This was time consuming and not easy but I'll continue doing it.
I could have quit while I was ahead
I could have done less trades
I could have kept trading into 4 pm and caught a reversal
I could have held longer on some winners and losers that turned into winners
So I wanted to touch on something people ask day traders a lot. They say what kind of a return do you get?
Today right now I'm up 21% on the account
But look. If I make 335 dollar net tomorrow
335/2000= 16%
335/5000= 6%
These are still big numbers for a daily return however
If you have 1 million at risk and make 1% then you made
10,000 dollars in a day.
It's all relative really to how you are measuring it.
There are limits to how much you can grow also..
Just a little food for thought
I need to make 400 tomorrow in order to make 20% in a day again. See it keeps growing
Obviously 1 day is not a sample at all and be ause it's discretionary trading then there is no way to really have a system or way to measure the trading.
I posted up my results a little too soon.
I was not going to trade into and hold thru the 2 pm hour but I decided to play off of my earlier gains and went for it.
I caught that enormous bar down. Luck perhaps...
Them I sold a couple big es futs short for a fast scalp.
I had platform issues and missed out on about 300 more by the time
I got it handled. Platform issuesay have been on my end
So acct is at 2,615 minus about 100 in fees
Net is roughly 2,515
Started yesterday afternoon at 1600
915/1600= 57% return at right about 24 hours.
And I could have continues to trade all the way up.. but I took a break
Dumb. If it's working and you have big volatility go for it!!
Maybe this small acct will run up faster than I thought.
