Not sure if there are any Nikkei traders here but I've noticed that at 2:30pm local on most days there's usually a sudden increase in volatility. Does anyone know why this might be? I've checked news/economic releases - nothing; the cash mkt doesn't close until 3:30pm...the only thing I can think of is something like the bonds going out?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
True, but look at Tue & Thur. I did say 'most' days, but its probably more like 1-2 days a week...but definitely there and I do take note of it in my own trading.
Thought someone may have known the reason behind it. It may just be a market behavioural characteristic that's a hangover from years gone by that still occurs. They all have their own peculiarities & personalities.
