Dear fellow traders,
I understand that Big Mike and some traders recommended Camtasia Studio. I have downloaded the free trial version (1 month). However, the price is not within my budget. I just need a basic recording tool, so that I can review how the trades develop. Not much editing. Anyone using other free softwares, or more affordable ones? How did it perform? Pros and cons? Please advice. Thank you.
I am using the free version of the BB flashback recorder form blueberry soft.
i have installed some extra free codec's that compress better and make good avi's.
I recommend screencast o matic. Free version lets you record 15 minutes only, but for a short trade it is ok. I'm a scalper so 15 minutes is really enough to record the whole trade and some analysis. The full version is $15 a year. It has many options and it is easy to use. Screencast-O-Matic - Free online screen recorder for instant screen capture video sharing.
I use this and it works very well for small quick videos. Easy to use and not to intrusive, which helps when you are trying to start recording during a trade.
I have camtasia also but only 1 license so when I got my new trading workstation, I didnt want to spend camtasia $$. I researched various software and settled on Autoscreenrecorder and Screenhunter by Wisdom Soft. They are cheaper than Camtasia and Snagit and do the job well. You can download a 15 day fully functioning trial and make your decision based on your experience.
I'm using BB FlashBack Pro 3 from Blueberry Software, it's a great tool, very reliable and fairly priced as well.
