If you ever did consider using SC with OEC, be real careful. I just had the following trade execute in the background, while I was doing something else (i.e. I did not execute this trade):
Symbol Trade Type Entry DateTime Exit DateTime Avg Entry Price Avg Exit Price Entry Quantity Exit Quantity Max Open Quantity Profit/Loss Cum P/L Runup Drawdown Max Open Profit Max Open Loss Entry Efficiency Exit Efficiency Total Efficiency Commission
[Sim]ESH4 Short 2014-02-25 07:12:24 14945.00 1 0 1 0.00 9373.75 655087.50 0.00 655087.50 0.00 100.00% 0.00% 0.00% 0.00
As per my previous post, this combo really is not fit for purpose and I keep testing it in SIM mode (in this case unfortunately only in SIM mode!). But the point is, this could have probably just as easily been a MINUS 655'000 US$ trade.
Buyers beware!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Well if I did, I would certainly look to replicate many times over in LIVE mode without posting about it.....
I am afraid, I did not even touch the computer, when this was executed.
I don't know, whether you have been trading with SC and OEC, since they "implemented" the fast fix connection, but believe me, nothing has been working as it should, since they have attempted to do so recently.
Guys and gals, as per my previous posts, the issues between SC and OEC have gone from bad to worse. OEC keeps randomly disconnecting from SC. This is a huge issue and the SC support board is full of posts about this.
SC have today added a sticky post to their forum to the effect, that they are pi$$ed-off with OEC for failing to support and properly implement the FIX connection. OEC don't give a damn and have effectively stopped supporting SC.
So anybody considering this combo: DON'T!
I will be closing my OEC account and will continue to trade with SC/AMP and Multicharts/IB.
I run sierra charts on two different machines, one using TransactAT data and one using OEC data. No issues for me with either.
have you tried OEC support?
Have you tried sierra support?

Yes and yes. They both are aware of the issue (just look at the SC support board, it is full of posts about the disconnection issues) and they are both blaming each other and unable to do anything about it.
If you have not had any disconnections, then that's cool. But a lot of us have. Maybe related to what version of SC is being used.
But relations between OEC and SC have certainly hit rock-bottom. Not a good premise for future road-map.
I think SC want to try some changes to s/w over the weekend and if they can fix it, great. But I have had constant disconnection issues between SC and OEC since using the combo with various versions of SC over the last 2 months or so.
