I would like to program an auto trade system with NJ7. I know nothing about computer programming. Can any one show me a direction how can I achieve that?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Given you know nothing about programming, the best bet would be to hire it done from a reputable programmer. There are several here on the forums. If you re-state your request as "Please PM me to discuss a strategy I want to pay to get programmed" then you'll get a few responses.
If your goal is instead to learn to program, your best bet is start by going through the source code of the hundreds of indicators on the forum and understanding them line by line. Buy some C# books. Research everything online (Google is your friend). But it will likely be a long while before you can write your own advanced strategy, so you know realize that going in.
you could start off by trying the strategy wizard - it is the simple way to program but
unfortunately the functions are way to limited - ninjatrader also has a list of its programmers
it is affiliated with on their site. also whilst getting your idea coded by someone else aren't you
giving yr idea away?
in ninjatrader go to tools - new ninjascript --strategy - next......
you will need to play around with it but to be honest i have had to have code
written for me because the strategy wizard is far too basic and limitedin what it can do,
maybe you could have some partial code written for you???
there are things you can do, use diff time frame exmp: if you use tick chart, specify a minute chart. change your setting, use the default indicator setting instead, throw in an extra indicator or two. Its not too hard to ignore the extra indicators once you have the final version in hand.
ask the developer to make it so that you can deactivate any indicator you want by turning it off or comment it out.

quote from Mike's write-up " I have written many strategies and finally came up with a decent, imo, engine for testing rulesets. This engine incorporates 3 Session Start and End times for evaluating different timeperiods, 4 different targets and a runner (each can be selected separately or together), initial stop, move to breakeven, and trailing stop. Each of these parameters can be enabled or disabled. I am providing this code for Elite members only. So please don't share this with others without getting my permission. "
