Any info appreciated

Hi Martin,

You can try IB Controller.

However, I've found that both IB Controller and TWS Start are very complicated to use and I didn't go further.

I'm using IB Gateway which is good and stable so far.

Try IB-Gateway, and avoid 3rd party software.
IB Gateway works fine for me too, mine was started a couple of weeks ago.

Hello Sam
I'm actually using IB Gateway and yes it is very stable. The only problem is I don't have a direct access to my account position like I do using TWS.

I'm writing code to send complete (Stop entry + StopLoss price ) orders directly to IB server and I want to see them on TWS

I have started to test TWSStart yesterday afternoon. Did not succeeded yet to install it properly.

A great day to all

Martin

Oh OK, I understand.
Well, I haven't been able to make these third party tools working, good luck to you !

I have succeeded to have TWSStart launch TWS last Friday afternnon.

Too late for a maintenance test since the market was closing for the weekend. I will try to have TWS kept alive next week.

Bodo, the creator of TWSStart was a great help to resolve the installation problems

Basically the problems where
- Java Setting: Path to Java RunTime Environment
-Startup Setting: Data Handling Method: SDH:Alternate 1

Hello / Bonjour Sysot

TWSStart work great. TWS is maintained opened the whole week. To test it, just close TWS manually and it will restart it. No flaw since I started the test.

I receive my quotes from IB TWS port. No interruption. I feel more comfortable to have a direct link with my trades with TWS.

Give it a try, this is a great free tool

Martin

I stumbled across this old thread. I just wanted to give a "+1" for TWSStart, in case anyone else does the same.

I've been running an autotrading strategy with MultiCharts for a month, and TWSStart has been great at keeping TWS up and running. It's a one-trick pony -- if TWS shuts down, it restarts TWS and logs you back in automatically.

I had one hiccup with installation, and I emailed the developer. He was very friendly and even issued a patch within a day due to an unusual problem that I was having -- that's amazing support for a freeware/donation-ware program. Since that time, it's worked flawlessly. (He got a modest donation from me -- well worth it, in my opinion.)
