Has anyone had issues getting the "exchange waiver" plugin to work? I get the "downloading waiver" window, but after a few seconds it disappears and I don't get the plugin screen it validate. Just curious if anyone ran into the similar issue. Will be contacting support.
I've had multiple issues getting this to work. The main issue for me is that right clicking on IQFeed in the system tray and going configuration -> exchange waivers never works. I just have a small window pop up saying its trying to download exchange waiver or connect and then it does nothing and eventually disappears.
I too initially thought it was firewall related but after uninstalling it, I still had the same issue. I'm also running windows via a virtual machine on my Mac, thought possibly this was causing a weird issue, but after switching from VMWare to Parallels I still had the issue, so really I have no idea what is causing it. I've also had support remote into my machine and have a look around, they weren't able to really give me a definitive answer although they did manage to get it to work for me as I had the exchangewaiver.exe in the wrong DTN folder initially which was causing the below steps not to work.
For the time being it seems to work on and off by following steps 2-5 each month.
4. Open your approved trading application e.g. Sierra Chart and allow SC to open the DTN IQ Feed - note if you trade through the API (place trades through SC/NT etc), don't connect to your trading interface as exchangewaiver.exe needs to use the API to connect and validate and there may be a clientID clash. Safer to just not connect until after validation.
5. Go to the exchangewaiver.exe application in your documents/DTN folder and run the .exe
Now re step 5, if you run into Error #5, give it some time and then attempt again. For example yesterday I tried to validate at about 2am EST and I ran into Error #5. I emailed support telling them I was having issues again. Then 3 hours later I tried again and it ran and validated. The app seems very touchy to me, however I have been able to validate at least once each month since Jan. Best bet is to just start trying to validate as early as possible in the month incase you run into issues i.e dont leave it till the last minute thinking it will work.
After several tries, I did get my waiver form to work. For me, it was the virus software (avast) and not the firewall. I turned off the file scan and the process worked without fail. Hopefully this will work for you too.
Big thanks to dubtrading above, copied the file and followed the instructions and worked a treat. DTN suggested it is some conflict or another within Windows 7. Basically the best option is the manual copy into "My Documents/DTN"
