Well, I just want to say that the recent problems with Zen-Fire have exonerated me of any false allegation. It's unfortunate that a few people have decided not to heed my warning.
just to remind you, your allegations were that zen-fire stopped all development and will cease to exist soon. both allegations are false.
what happened today is no doubt very frustrating, but certainly no reason to question everything. it was pretty clear that this update was very crucial. so I didn't even think about trading today
As you've seen in PM, my posts have been very justified. And you even agreed:
Again, anyone who has taken a look at the C++ API documentation will agree with me. (Which is probably why Sierra Chart dropped them, I'm guessing, since SC is written in native C++.) It is pretty probable that the underlying backend that was "Zen-Fire" no longer exists. I'm guessing that they stopped all development on "Zen-Fire" as it used to be called, and have rebadged a new project as "Zen-Fire" to reassure confidence.
I do admire you however for your steadfast dedication towards your broker and express my thanks for the suggestion that I call Mirus - though I'm not a client, at least not personally. I like keeping myself up to date with different ISVs and retail brokers' platforms, but it is none of my concern that they fail or stop development.
Well, I don't hold anything against Rithmic, but the way the situation is unfolding makes me pretty confident that it's Rithmic ditched ZenFire (and on a very short notice) and not the other way around as new ZenFire is apparently far from being ready for production use at this point. And I mean both server side and API / 3rd party trading software support.
I have been having SERIOUS probs since Sunday Dec 29. I wrote into broker and recieved an off the cuff, superficial answer. I replied 4 times and finally gave up. Monday was worse, tues a little better but still horrible. Today is a repeat of Tuesday. This is business suicide 101. They did not proof their work, they did not listen to the users, they insulted the users giving poor responses to the concerns voiced. I am looking for a new broker and provider.... any suggestions???
Received this morning from Mirus. Seems the ZenFire problem is system wide not broker-specific. We're just going to have to wait it out until all the problems have been solved.
"ZenFire Status Update:
January 2nd, 2014 - 9:00 am CT (10:00 am ET)
A number of ZenFire users have been experiencing connection interruptions this morning. ZenFire is currently working to address the related issue however, we suggest our traders avoid live trading until connection stability is restored.
We will provide a further update once more information is available. "
After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!
I tried BigTick with NT when it was first released. I had a ton of probs and finally took my NT back to Zen. I do have another Mirus accnt with BigTick and it has been mostly stable through the fire storm. I dont know how NT works with BigTick now. You may want ot talk to Anthony or Thian at Mirus before you make the switch. Let us know how you fair
