I need a GOOD Account Rep at Mirus.... Any suggestions?
Many users often feel intimated or are unsure of exactly how or where to ask a question. This feature was created with that in mind, to encourage these users to participate!
I would stay away from Tony. He charges me $5 r/t on es, when I know of others at Mirus who use Zen-Fire and only pay $4.40. I asked him directly about this and he lied. You can certainly do better than him.
I agree with Zoethecus that AMP provides better customer service. I signed up with Mirus mainly because I may consider a CBOT membership at a later date (exchange fee will be reduced by over $1.5 round trip for YM) and Mirus seemed more knowledgeable on this.
Let me also remind everyone to carefully check their statements. After I switched to Mirus, it took me multiple emails per instrument I traded to get the quoted commission rate. It was always a "Ok I will fix that", not even a "oh my, what?? that's not good". So pretty scary.
And even after the first email it would still not be fixed...
Still, I expect that other than emails to withdraw money from my account, I will never need to deal with them again so the 'service' part is less of a concern for me. The most 'service' for me is during initial account setup. So I go for the best commissions, which Mirus definitely has over Amp (having used both).
so if your account rep is on vacation for the day, and you have questions, does another one take over for him while he is out of the office?
is the account rep actually a trader who has accounts whilst doing his trading?
what if the account rep gets tired of me and my dyslexic ass-backwards way of looking at things and starts to ignore my calls?
so lets see we have,
ninja charting and zen-fire data feed,
then there is Amp, Mirus, and ??? who handle the account so i can get the zenfire to power my ninja?
then there is Dorman, RCG, and ??? who handle the clearing for Amp, Mirus, and ????
so am i correct that Dorman and RCG dont deal with little fish like me, so that is where AMP and Mirus come in?
and is the account manager at AMP and Mirus getting a little piece of the commish everytime i place a trade?
hhmmmmmm.
that is one thing i like about IB,,,, i dial a number, i dont know who but someone answers my questions and i hang up the phone.
I do like the ninja/zenfire setup and expect at some point will use them.
also, the idea of an account manager reminds me of the J-trader trading platform that was around a few years ago, i would get some sort of an account manager with the j-trader deal. those j-trader guys were real friendly until you got the account with them, after the account was established, they were all-business, not personal, took long lunches, played golf, what ever.
