Ironbeam experiencing "connection failure" around 2pm!!
Never used Ironbeam, but there should be a log file. A market order would not take 20 min to fill. I believe it was sitting on your PC until the connection problem was cleared up . There should have been some indication that the order made it to the market.
Take some responsibility for your own actions. This is a profession, not a video game. How do you allow yourself to not know your order isn't filled for 20 minutes? You elected to self direct your funds. You are managing your money. You've said "hey, I've got this". So now man up and accept responsibility for your actions and decisions.
Professionals have backup solutions in place. Backup brokers, backup internet, backup computers, ready to dial emergency phone numbers, etc just to name a few to deal with events like these.
You've been given countless recommendations on the forum, most of which you've flatly ignored. And then you come here and say the broker is to blame? I've never done business with that broker, but even if they suck - you are the one to blame, since you picked them!

edit: Sorry if harsh. I am hyped up a bit on high dose of prednisone fighting another URTI (upper respiratory infection). Still, you need to accept responsibility. Fire Ironbeam if you are convinced they are the problem.
Was there any indication that your market order was not filled or pending at the time you put it in? Does your platform indicate connection lost? What exactly happened after you entered your market order?

If you held onto Enron stock all the way down and added more because the CEO said it was going up any minute now on CNBC then yes, it would be partly the shareholders fault.
I guess what I am saying is maybe you should move to somewhere else besides Ironbeam and firetip if you feel they are not reliable.
