First off I have to say I am not an accomplished trader, very much in the middle of a journey so I am not claiming any great capabilities or knowledge. Just had to get that out of the way.
usually 4-10 minutes is the length of time for my better trades. if it hasn't worked out from there I can very often be holding on to a loser but I guess that's because of a combination of things:
1) the products I trade, how they move has probably had some effect on why I get in and out when I do.
2) my style of trade which is always evolving (not changing necessarily but hopefully incrementally getting better) because of my boredom threshold, knowledge and experience, and the people and tools around me.
3) Perceived risk in holding trades into the close as I have done that by accident and on purpose at times, and found it quite nerve racking. I also have had some big losses because of a gap against my position that was for more risk than I should have allowed.
How long are you in your trades and what brought you to ZS? It was my most profitable crop this year on the farm which has brought me a little more interest in it for futures.
