While I do not consider myself an early adopter, I did read the $BTC whitepaper in 2010 and was fascinated by the prospect of a true peer-to-peer decentralized digital currency and kept my attention on the evolution of the $BTC space.
I was fortunate enough to start investing in it earlier than most and have done quite well, but I truly believe that the best is yet to come for the crypto space as a whole.
Couldn't wait to short this stuff back in December.
Short from 20K and taken half off at 6K. Waiting with the rest till we get to a 100. I missed the tulip bubble crash in 1637 and wasn't going to miss this one.
To me it's simple: a non regulated money flow is very interesting to criminal money which today is a very significant share of the total money in the world (the 500 euro note is the most printed bank note by the ECB though pretty much nobody ever has one, also the 100 US Dollar note is by far the most printed one).
When too much criminal activity takes place in something like a currency, regulators will just ban it. To me, this will be the inevitable future of any cryptocurrency no matter how appealing the concept might be in the eyes of dreamers.
I really think your view, which you are most certainly entitled to, is quite bleak and focuses on the nefarious aspects while completely ignoring the many positive aspects of the crypto space.
There will be much to soon know with the Libra project that FB is introducing.

Wow, I can't believe Bitcoin is exist for 10 years! I can't believe it's been around that long. Although, to me, its development and integration into the economy is quite slow. That's okay, considering that Blockchain is a very complicated technology. But still, in 10 years there is usually a little more progress.
It has been quite some time since bitcoin came to be. It was not popular at first but over time it has proved to be a very valuable currency. I am among those happy people that are using bitcoin for quite a lot of purposes. Bitcoin miing is awesome I really love it. Happy birthday BTC.
