I dont believe in retiring...only dying doing something you love....trading or otherwise. I am NOT rich although I got close once and the goal then and now is the same....time and geographical freedom. Which requires passive income or income freedom which I interpret to mean I can earn income when ever and wherever I choose. I love trading but only as a means to an end... the end is this: To enjoy my life, my family and friends and to engage in things that are bigger than me. While...

This is my 1st post on a public trading forum, having been a full time day trader since April 2009. First of all, I want to thank Big Mike for giving traders a productive environment to share and discuss ideas. One of the reasons I never spent time on forums was due to general negativity of the participants - I think you have done a great job from what I have seen keeping the forum positive in that respect, so well done and keep up the good work. I am writing this to share my experience as a...

Is it me, or (for those who love the rounds) is 2900 going to be the new 3400? Because, market participants appear to be repeating the same mistakes that got them into this mess in the first place (sans buybacks) i.e., passive (systematic) strategies, miscalculation of portfolio/tail risk, out-sized leverage, ever larger valuation excesses (P/E 20.61), and the Fed's one-on-two stimulus of vigorously fluffing the markets' balls like a pair of dice. How long can they keep it up? And now,...

Sounds like you are asking VolumeFootprint 101 type questions, for anyone getting started with the vast amounts of information in these charts. Some of the best education resources I have found I have gleaned from Anthony Drager, who has had at least 2 presentations here on nexusfi.com (formerly BMT): April 29, 2013 presentation and the one from June 13, 2013. There is some completely fantastic information in these webinars. They are geared towards the software package MarketDelta, but...

Community Concerns

A review of the week Because I have more latitude in my decision-making now, I'm feeling like my trading isn't as "consistent" as it was before. I'm following my rules, but I'm also feeling unsure of myself because of the discretion I have. I'm experiencing the regret of making a decision to do one thing and then watching as the other thing works out better. Regardless of how I feel though, it would appear that on balance, my decisions have worked out to my benefit, and were probably the...
