The more reason you should use the indicator attached in post #1 of this thread.
because if and when T&S is made available in MultiCharts, I doubt you can filter it or trade on it either.
Furthermore, Garbage In Garbage Out, the T&S won't be any more accurate than what is available from your broker,
in IB's case, it is not synchronized to your "live" datafeed most of the time.
Yes, and MC said that "THEY" did not test it. [I was referring to a standard indicator designed,TESTED & supported by MC]
I have experienced sufficient corruption, conflicts and compatibility issues over the years with MC that I only use NON BETA MultiCharts supported features.
I have owned MC since version 4.xx and have been told Time & Sales will be incorporated "soon"
Regarding custom indicators, I only use those written myself or procured from a trusted source.
Of course I can, that is what I currently must do, but that isn't the point. I should not need to cobble together a functioning platform. You can not LINK an external Time & Sales to MC's charts & quote mgr/scanner...
The concept is efficiency: I trade multiple markets & instruments concurrently, when scanning, executing or performing research I desire an intuitive and efficient set-up. I have no desire to continually change settings in each and every window or workspace.
UPDATE on Time & Sales [was told the same in 2012]
3:00:04 PM: Me:
Read "what's new in beta 8.2" did not see mention to Time & Sales.
Request update on when this may be implemented. Was told soon [2-years ago, 1-year ago, 6-months ago]
3:02:38 PM: Katrin:
Time & Sales is going to be implemented this year
3:03:26 PM: Me:
Any idea which quarter?
3:04:07 PM: Katrin:
Well, probably in the second half of the year
So far everything I've experimented with has worked as I'd like... custom volume filter, custom number of rows with scroll bar /NT 7 does not have this feature/, custom colors... all looks good.
I've tried migrating over MC to my trading computer. MC does a few things better than NT 7 especially when it comes to creating scans/alerts. Also I feel MC charting is more "polished" however this is just my personal thing.
Still on the plus side MC DOM trading does not cost extra, no need to buy NT credits.... or pay extra at Mirus.
Unfortunately MC got killed on my trading machine /for opening about the same amount of windows and T&S windows the data load became just too slow and the CPU usage maxed out as well/ which is an older dual core with 4 GB memory. For now therefore back to NT and will use again MC on my 4 core laptop where it runs just fine. I may give another attempt as soon as I'll get a new "trading" computer. However if NT 8 will finally come out and will blow me away than I might just stay with NT.
