“The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..”
What I use:
-Volume Profile
-Order Flow
-Momentum
-Price Action
-Range charts
How I use it:
-Day Trading / Scalping
-Everything adapts to changing market conditions - including stops and targets.
-Only take trades that meet ALL my criteria. If not - no trade. There will always be another trade.
-Never allow the pattern recognition idiot inside my brain to make idiot decisions that go against my rules.
-No limit on taking valid trades throughout the day - provided doing so is within my risk management rules which "should" statistically prevent me over-leveraging or blowing out due to some weird black swan event.
-Only manage at most, 2 trades at one time.
Current Goals:
-Automate high frequency trading.
-Finish engineering 5 self optimizing systems of my own that meet all my criteria.
Books I've been enjoying lately:
-Trading Systems: A New Approach to System Development and Portfolio Optimization - Tomasini & Jaekle
-Trading Systems and Methods - Kaufman
-Fooled by Randomness - Taleb
-The Little Book of Hedge Funds - Scaramucci
-You May Ask Yourself - Conley
-Evolutionary Psychology - Buss
-Predictably Irrational - Ariely
A few of my favorite books:
-The Happiness Hypothesis - Haidt
-The Personal MBA - Kaufman
-Essentialism - McKeown
-The Art of War - Sun Tzu
-Nudge - Thaler/Sustein
-Market Wizards - Schwager
About Me:
Gender: Male
Age: 20's
Marital Status: Single - and seemingly always happier this way.
Education: High school & College dropout (in hindsight my earlier years did not make either of these compatible with my competencies or personality - in both cases, as soon as I realized this, I just stopped going)
Professional Background: Started working manual labor at 13. However, the more notable endeavors were 4 years of construction management and 2 years of hospitality management.
