There were 2 problems. 1. @mattz made the comment that he was happy things were resolved. Nothing was resolved. The issue was that due to data feed outages the original poster was out "a small, but annoying" amount of money. Further, the original poster was lamenting the possible need to change data feeds. @Japhro did not post that he recovered his money, nor did he post that he had found an acceptable replacement for his data - although he did mention CTS T4 had served him well in the past. In other words, nothing was resolved. The original poster is still of the opinion that Rithmic is not as solid as it once was, the money is still gone, and based on the information to this point in the thread, the search for better data continues. 2. Matt, oblivious to the poster's situation, kept replying with insinuation that the problem was not with Rithmic - a company for which he is a vendor.
I'm sure all intentions were good and I hope the data feed issues are solved.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Everyone give it a rest please. Rithmic had a problem and the TS made a post about it. That is what the forum is for. Matt uses Rithmic day to day and is a broker, so his comment should be welcomed since he was just trying to help. Stop picking apart every word of a post looking for some underlying message and let's return to being a supportive and productive community.
Just a follow up since this was posted, Rithmic had another 2 issues since then, the latest being this morning where some of their historical data servers were down or unavailable, causing my Multicharts platform to have quotes on the DOM but blank charts for 3 hours or more.
In the past I had used Rithmic with Vision Financial and didn’t have problems. I was mostly a sim trader then, so I probably wasn’t hitting the platform hard enough to notice problems, I mostly relied on what others were saying on futures.io (formerly BMT) and elsewhere.
At this point I am about to give Rithmic another whirl, with an account that uses ADMIS as the FCM.
I’m wondering if people felt problems like the one discussed in this thread are more or less likely to happen with ADMIS as the FCM. I’ve seen some very positive things posted on futures.io (formerly BMT) about ADMIS, but I am concerned about reliability.
Also, I’m aware that this thread got somewhat discordant at times. If folks could try to be dispassionate in their replies and keep in mind we are a community trying to help each other as well as make money for ourselves, I’d appreciate it.
This is only my general opinion as far as feeds: You would likely see more issues as far as platforms and feed integration, rather than FCM and data feed differences. Most FCMs and IBs rely on the data feed server's rather than the FCM's in many cases. Some FCMs may have their own servers, that some data feeds may require.
I know this does not answer your question, but this would help you ask the right questions.

I guess my question is: Are incidents like the one detailed in post #27 likely to happen again, and is having ADMIS as a FCM going to make these incidents more or hopefully less likely?
What gave me pause was that the starter of the thread claims he "woke up to find that I was in a position that I never entered." That's not good at all.
Interestingly, the Rithmic incident was reported on Dec 1. It looks like Vision Financial transferred their accounts to ADMIS on Nov 30th. ( nexusfi.com (formerly [AUTOLINK]BMT[/AUTOLINK]) link) It could be coincidence, but perhaps someone "kicked a cable' during the transition, affecting clients besides those with Vision accounts.
Who knows really, and I doubt anyone would fess up, but it is odd...
#27 was a Rithmic issue, not the FCM. Therefore, any FCM can't make something "less likely" when they had nothing to do with it from the first place. I have addressed the issue with Rithmic per the indecent on this thread, and although non our our customers reported anything, Rithmic acknowledged it and took care of the issue. I have known them as a team of people that does not have a cavalier approach to situations like this. Neither do we.
Futures trading has many components, and we try and go via a step by step process to help you out in case you have a snag.

there weren't any problems with Rithmic since those really rare issues recently. I've been using Rithmic for year and half and it is extremely stable and solid datafeed. Nothing is 100% all the time so those issues were acceptable as long as they don't repeat frequently and so far they don't. Using Sierra Chart with Rithmic datafeed via Optimus Trading Group which is introducing broker to FMC Admis and it is great combo. So that is feedback and recommodation I can provide you. Good luck in trading.
Just wanted to follow up that as of late, Rithmic has been very reliable again, back to it's old self. Not sure what issues they were having during that period, but they seem to have it solved and I am using them happily for the last few months. Just FYI. Cheers - J
