this was what was happening and i posted it at the same time you posted to fix and its working fine now..
the same process when reproducing the decimal place bug: 3.0 -> beta 40.. seems to only be happening when i import from a 3.0 journal.. it also continues to happen when i go one step further, as long as the original data came from 3.0.. so something like this: 3.0 -> beta 40 -> beta 40a..
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
what im planning on doing is just hand migrating my 3.0 journal to the next stable so that way i dont bring any of the old structure or whatever with my for future versions..

Some bugfixes here and there..
Added account balance on Time Period Statistics tab (only first year has it, if it's good this way the other years get it also).
@petrmac, were you able to narrow down a bit what exactly gets broken by the import so I can code a fix...
also my yearly totals are not matching up.. so im guessing that everything else on the time period stats tab is off as well.. ive only really looked at the structure and user experience of it, and not really crunched the numbers to check the accuracy of the new tab..
