I don't own any of them. Because I don't buy names. That does not mean I have not used any of them.
Two companies I will not buy for sure ever: Apple and SONY - 90% of price - name , 10% - product.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
so true ..... I have Dell XPS 16 and could not be more pleased ..... I had 1 minor cosmetic issue ever since I got it (3mo ago) and finally decided to resolve it ..... Dell was so responsive, I still cannot believe the distance they want to help ...... they replaced the screen, back cover, battery, just to make sure the computer is perfect ..... I had Dells in past and I never received this kind of service ...... technician mentioned that it may be because XPS is Dell's top of the line model ..... he is also servicing other brands and stated that Mac is just a name, Sony is worse than average ....... he has Lenovo and thinks Dell is as good as it gets .... maybe he meant Dell XPS ........
I've used Digital Equipment VAX server machines, Dell Server/Desktop PC/Notebook(Laptop), HP Server/Desktop PC/Notebook(Laptop), and Toshiba Notebook(Laptop) equipment all within the past 20 years; I've managed HP, DELL and VAX servers in a Corporate setup too; I've only had PEACE of mind and satisfaction with HP Server (Unix) and the old VAX servers. The others, with their "BLUE SCREEN of DEATH" OSs are HELL.
I've had my Apple Macs and iPhone for over two years now and I've had real PEACE. Take a look back at the history and advent of the PC and you would see that Mac machines are good because of the technical design concepts and their Unix-derived OS (the Mac OS X). Apple has been the FIRST in GUI concept and design in the 1980s long before the advent of the IBM PC/Microsoft DOS Operating System (OS).
So, Apple is 90% quality/peace of mind, 10% name. Millions of people all over the world don't really know Apple, whereas millions and millions of the people know about the BLUE SCREEN of DEATH. The BLUE SCREEN of DEATH-based machines are 99% name, 1% product.
I agree, but still not paying just because they were first.
Oh they don't crash... It easy not to crash by doing nothing and writing OS for few pieces of hardware supported. If Apple would try to support as much hardware as MS, I think their screens would not be BLUE, you would have a choice of every possible color.
the hardware support has completely changed; I can testify that I can use all the peripherals (printers, scanners, etc) that I used on my Win, on my Mac now (I initially did not expect this). Have a look at those hardware in the shops; you now see that they are compatible with both Mac and Win. The Mac auto-detects these hardware now. I had a repulsion to Mac because of the prices of their products, but what should matter, really, is cost-efficiency.
Mac OS X runs on FreeBSD. A true unix compliant open source platform.
I have run also the VAX VMS Digital in the past and many flavors of OS', Apple has it right, you PC guys can't keep hiding behind the fact that it's looking great.
Open your mind, investigate for yourself, and see what all the fuss is about.
About the Antenna: It's only a minority but blown up by the others who will do nothing but copy Apple's innovations.
I am not going to argue with Apple fanatics what is bs and what is not. I don't care what they run on what they run and I am not saying that they making bad product.
All I am saying that $600 -$1000 price tag for a phone without antenna is absolutely insane. I am not trying you to stop from buying it, but I will definitely will find better phones for my entire family for half of that price.
iPhone4 price tag is high now; it is going to drop; all the other phones (Nokia, Motorola, etc) do have high price tags too when they are newly launched. Always consider excellent functionality, cost-efficiency, user-friendliness/ease of use when you want to purchase phones, or any gadgets. Hey, where can I buy Microsoft phone ?
