btw, what i ended up doing:

i just set the controller to raid as it functions the same as AHCI for the ssd and would allow me to add in my raid 1 mirror on the same controller.

i did that.. it says there i did the fresh...

i did that.. it says there i did the fresh install after i set it..

anyways, ive also heard that you can have it set to raid as well, you just cant have it in an actual array on that controller......

just purchased a new samsung 830 SSD and im having a bit of trouble. i did a fresh win7 install on it after i set it to AHCI in the bios from the RAID setting i had previously and now it is showing...
