The type of jumps I'm talking about are due to unexpected world events, so they can happen at any time. Sometimes they also can be the result of economic reports that are released at predefined times...

I trade CL daily (or at least watch it daily...
I trade CL daily (or at least watch it daily depending on my position) and generally 2 hours before the floor opens (Nymex) the volatility picks up noticeably. I don't notice any difference in fills...
