Ah, OK. That formula is simply one standard deviation from a moving average.

Normally you see something like that in plotting Bollinger Bands, which are a certain number of sd's (usually 2) above...

Maybe you could explain what you mean by a "moving standard deviation."

A standard deviation has to be a deviation from something, such as a moving average or linear regression or VWAP, etc.....
