I don't think there is a definite, objective...
I don't think there is a definite, objective difference... just try them.
I have found that I like text in black letters on white background, as in a book, but I also prefer charts to be colors on...

I've had both of those thoughts many times....

Also, I found that I couldn't really stand the default NT8 Slate Gray skin, which makes everything a dark gray background, including dialog...
