I don't like the term wiggle room. Over the years I've heard it from a couple different money managers as an excuse not to honor their stops. Mostly ended up with bigger losses than they should have....

Have you considered trailing stops? Trail a 8 tick stop and leave the trade alone until it is triggered? That way you cut losers quickly and let the winners run.
