I think I now understand - are you looking for a certain pattern to be seen inside of a larger pattern, i.e. looking at 1-minute candles inside a 10-min candle?

Unless I'm misinterpreting what I read, I think you have your understanding wrong. You say "a 10 min bar updates every 10 minutes". That's not the case. Any bar duration updates istantaneously....
