I purchased the Weis Wave from Mr. Weis some years back before he passed. The activation process was manual. You had to contact Mr. Weis and he'd take care of it. I spoke with his wife a couple of years back about activating it for a new system and she said that she was handling it now. I reached out to her recently to activate the Weis Wave plugin on my new system and haven't heard anything. I'm wondering if anyone here knows what's going on. I'd hate to think that she passed since I last spoke with her.
@sdotcarter Sorry I can't help, but just to let you know that you've brought back a lot of emotional memories. David was not only a mentor but a dear friend. They just don't make them like that any more.
In the original Weis Wave, David had two indicator settings with the Properties-Parameters, that proved extremely helpful in tape reading. 1) Under Price Mode, he gave you the options of setting the zigzag to either the H/L or the Close; 2) Under Text Volume Scale, he gave you the option of settings from 1 to 100000000. Would you consider adding these features to your indicator? Finally, wondering if there is a way to get the volume reading in a panel, below the PA? Again, in the original, you had to load the indicator a second time and then chose New Panel, under Properties-Visual-Panel.
I have no idea how difficult or time consuming adding these features to your otherwise, brilliant indicator would entail. I would be willing to speak with you about costs, if you're interested. My interest, like others is trying to find an alternative to Mr. Weis indicator, which appears no longer available. I've reached out to Mrs. Weis, and she is not responding to calls or emails. This is also the experience of Helen Fang at TradeMindfully, aka Dr. Gary Dayton.
I owe you an apology. Your indicator does provide the option under Properties-Parameters for using "Closed values." However, I do bring to your attention, that the option is not working, as volume and the zigzag are still calculated on the H/L of each bar. Would you please activate this option? Regarding the importance of calculating on the Close, David Weis in his chapter on Tape Reading in his book, "Trades about to Happen" writes, "As we have seen, Wyckoff's tape reading chart involved surveying every price change, something impractical given today's volatility. To avoid this problem, I use a wave chart based on the closing price of any time period from one minute to one day." ppg. 170, 171, emphasis added.
In addition, every chart I've ever seen him share, either minute or tick, he always uses the closing price of each bar in his volume and zigzag calculations. I'll spare you the personal anecdote regarding my conversation with him around this very subject
