I was taught to stay clear of the keyboard while he speaks. Do you take advantage of the sometime erratic movement when he speaks or do you stay clear? I'm debating this since he'll be speaking non-stop the next 2 days.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
At least for currencies its a good idea to wait for the aftermath of his speaking or policy decision . Ive found that during a week in which the fed has engagements spread out , like this week , prices tend to get directional during ordinarily quiet periods like the asian session or late in the NY session .
The market sometimes is predictable during these situations. Like there for a while, every single time Bush was speaking, the market would go down. But a lot of it can just be perception, you tend to notice things that scientifically are not accurate although the perception is they are.
In general for The Ben Bernak I would not trade currencies when he is speaking.
