Not an answer to your question, but I am curious what type of aircraft do you fly and how often?

Mike

hey sharky, I've been browsing the site and just noticed your post. I did this a few years back north of the border, and you definitely need to study. Unless you've had prior training in regs, weather, navigation, etc. there's alot of material to absorb. What I used to help supplement the ground school was test prep software similiar to this...

Test Prep Software

it doesn't cost much, but is well worth it. Good luck

Sharky, just go take the course. It's just for private - I assume that ground school is part of the course. It takes a good while to fly 40 hours, so this must be fairly intensive, and you can't be ariborne all the time. You will have PLENTY of time to study for the written. Another idea, just ask the course contact person how you should prepare.
Dave

Won't be that hard, and the course material should include all that you need.

Not sure what's all covered in the written exam... but have you ever tried out Microsoft Flight Simulator for some of their tutorials and videos?

https://casoneroutegold-prod-bggfgca0dkaag8a8.b01.azurefd.net/games/flightsimulatorX/

not only fun to play with but also very educational!

I stopped my Cessna training after 8 hours when I was a young lad overseas... I let too many other things push in and take my eyes off the goal.

Push through and tell us how it goes...

Kirk

sharky, you probably didn't notice, but there is one there for just the basic ground school...

Test Prep Software - Private Pilot Study System

I'm just saying, it's definitely worth a look.
