Anyone know if it's possible to get a list of delisted symbols for all the exchanges?

Someone on ET linked to a list ( delisted_stocks.txt) but it's not accurate as far as I can tell. For example, I looked up Circuit City which is in the list but the symbol is incorrect (it's listed as KMX which is CarMax). Circuit City had a symbol of "CC" (which is now traded OTC as "CCTYQ"). Anyway, that list seems like it's no good.

I don't need data, just the symbols. I am interested in getting a list of all symbols back to 1928 although I believe they reused symbols for a while so it's probably not possible to get absolutely every one. I would however like to get every delisted symbol that I can.

Any ideas?

Updated link above. List seems better now.

The list I have above ( delisted_stocks.txt) has been updated and seems to be more accurate now. I don't know exactly how accurate it is but it did give me a few symbols I didn't previously have.
