Something to think about.

If our government was a family, and the leadership was mom and dad.....and we made $60k this year (median family income)......

The current budget debate would could be characterized as mom and dad arguing about how to knock $323 off an anticipated $67,600 in costs, while we already have a $66k credit card debt.

It's akin to arguing about whether or not to blow out the candles when the rest of the house is on fire. For the median family, the worst that happens is declaring bankruptcy. For the US government and economy, there is no bankruptcy judge that can save us, no rich relative to come to our aid.....no inheritence that can bail us out.

The irony here is that we spend more on foreign aid to other nations than our illustrious leaders are debating about cutting. And the Democrats call the cuts "draconian"

Also keep in mind that in 2009 we spent $300BN less than we're anticipating spending this year.

When is the madness going to stop? How is a return to $2009 level of spending 4 times more than the "draconian" cuts proposed?

I have seen no evidence of it slowing down, much less stopping. In fact, all the evidence points to it continuing to be more ans more out of hand and political. It isn't about helping the country anymore and it hasn't been for quite some time.
