The IT guy at work told me about DNSSEC verification--basically verifies that websites are who they say they are. This should help with the "Your computer is at risk and infected" popups that install code when you "X" out of them. Check DNSSEC out here: DNSSEC FAQs
By the way, not if but when you get the "Your computer is at risk and infected" popup, do not click out of it. In fact click nothing and hit "Alt F4". Supposed to close out the active screen. If that doesn't work, don't blame me, blame my IT guy.
