Right...it's one thing to make $10,000 with your new roulette betting strategy on your casino PC game, but it's totally different to walk into a "real" casino and plop those black $100 chips on the table!
I've been looking at the first 5 minutes for a while now......it's getting to be one of my favorite trades.
If you go back to the start of this current contract (or for that matter as far back as you want) and see what your winning percentage would be.......I think you'll find it's very high. Couple this knowledge with a good risk/reward and it's a great way to start your day. Better than Wheaties !!!
I went through around 10 ES days looking at this and I only found 1 day that was a loss. Very good idea. I'll be simming it next week to see how it goes. Man that'd be awesome get my 4 pts in the first 10 minutes and then go play!
Note that even on the rare occasions when this trade does not work you can often breakeven by taking the trade at the opposite end of the first 5 minute bar. So for example the first 5 minutes passes and you enter long as the price exceeds the first 5 minute bar. Unfortunately, the trade does not go in your favor and you take a stop out .....this is where the r/r is critical. A minute or two passes and the price then exceeds the bottom of the first 5 minute bar....and it's a winner. Breakeven on the day.
So.....the last 27 trading days you had 21 winning days and 6 breakeven. Not too schabby.
Setting realistic targets that make sense with your stop is key.
Anyway.....let me know the results of your findings.
haim is now banned. He is actually the user named Tzachi, which has created several accounts since he was banned for being offensive to others users of futures.io (formerly BMT). They've all been caught and banned, but the new one "haim" took longer (too long) for us to catch. The moderators knew about it earlier but I am just logging on for the day and hit the ban button.
