Hey everybody, I've been a lurker for a few weeks and decided to get more involved in the community here. I've just recently transitioned to day trading NQ futures, on paper for now but I am very confident in my long term success. The toughest part of being a trader in CA is having to get up and be prepared for the open at 6:30am PST. I haven't been able to get up at 5:00am like I want constantly yet, but I'd like to hear from anybody else that trades the US markets from the west coast.

Hi, I'm trying the same thing, and it's definitely a challenge for a night owl. Losing sleep doesn't exactly put me in a good mental space for trading, which is essential.

London session is good for currency and energy futures.
I rarely ever get up for the US session. I usually start trading
around 8-9am, then 10a-close.

I wake up at 4:30 every morning to be ready for trading at 5am I trade mostly CL and I'm done by 9am PST. CL has good volume most of the days from about 5:15am and by East Coast lunch time the market personality seems to change quite a bit so don't trade then anymore.

Yeah, right outside SF here. Been waking up at 4:30am since January. But as of last week I've been waking up at 4am. Which means I go to sleep no later than 8pm. Which means I have no life! hah. But it's cool. As Muhammad Ali said, "Suffer now, and live the rest of your life as a champion."
