I am new to ninjatrader and am trying it out because I'm interested in range bars. However, it seems that range bars only generate in real time. Am I doing something wrong?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Range bars are built from tick data. You need to subscribe to a datafeed which offers historical tick data, otherwise there will be no historical ticks.
Some brokerfeeds do not offer historical tick data, but only have historical minute data. In this case your historical range charts will be empty.
