All of the prior remarks which were not helpful to the original topic posted have been moved to the Off Topic section here:

You guys (Richard, wh, roonius, sharky) can continue the discussion there about EOT and commercial indicators if you so desire, but leave this thread alone unless you have something positive to contribute directly relating to the purpose of the original post (finding indicators similar to EOT Allas Average).

Thank you.

Mike

Vic,

I'm currently using the EOTpro allas average but if I ever paying for their indicators, I'll want to find a free indicator that looks like their allas' average.

Are you working with the seansaverage 3 shown as a zip file at the bottom of this thread or are you using the stepma that someone posted a link to from the ninja support forum?

Todd

EOT Pro allas based on average of swings high and low. Stps are contoled in hey control the stps in allas.
Step Ma under discussion is basically Ma average with stp controled feature. This means one feature step cntrol available to us. Then how we get average of swing high and low. There is one old version of DMA, that have one indicator inside Dynamic SR. This indicator works on high and low. and draw a new line. When I use it to make it double then I got some images that I attach here for information and further discussion.
So If we make such indicator that have the following featurs, may be it close Allas
1- Contol the step size
2- Add coloring feature
3- Add swing high low average
4- Add level of sensitivity control
5- Add coloring Feature.

All these features are available in Two Indicators. a) Step Ma B) Dynamic SR
Dynamic SR is not available with New Version of DMA.

Step Ma Give better results when we apply it with setting of Riverend. This is just an idea, If some thing wrong with it forgive me, because I am not programmer.

Never used it, but it is pretty easy to add Dynamic SR to the DMA choices. Just add it at 3 places in your DMAInternal.cs file (look at the other MAs and duplicate). Couple minutes work.

However looking at the code in the old Internals file (MAV.cs) the DynamicSR in the DMA was an average of the Support and Resistance.

else if( mAType == MAType.DynamicSR )
MA.Set( (DynamicSR(Input,MAPeriod).Support[0] + DynamicSR(Input,MAPeriod).Resistance[0]) / 2 );

So first you need to know if you want:
- DynamicSR Support
- DynamicSR Resistance
- both
- or the average.

If you want to use it differently, you can create two entries in your files, one for the Support, one for the resistance, and then select which one you want each time from Ninja. Just a thought.

Kjaved, what version of the DEMA are you you using for this, I have DEMA 2.0 but it doesn't seem to have the Dynamic S/R EMA option in it.

While I won't deny Allas average is quite useful, I certainly don't think its anything special. For those thinking its something complex like StepMA or NonLagMA, take a look at this screenshot I just made and tell me if you don't think it could be something simpler.

It took me a couple of minutes. Given more time I'm sure I could get the plots to match closer.

EOT's 'proprietary' AllasAvg Vs. a displaced Donchian channel. Which is better? (I'm sure similar results could be achieved with StepMA or NonLagMA, the secret in my opinion is the displacement)

Often I have found myself impressed with some 'special' indicator simply because its methodology is hidden, costs money and has a fancy website and some marketing behind it when the reality is, freely available indicators or even NT's built in ones can achieve almost the same results...
