Dear Fellow NinjaTraders, Elliot Wave or Harmonic traders,
What do you guys think about this idea?
Maybe something like this exists?
I should be labeling a-b-c's and 5 waves all day long, but it frankly can get pretty tedious. I get lazy, and then miss trades!
For example, the chart below from today's session required the following key strokes:
1. Find and type 'F12' on keyboard
2. Point mouse on chart and click at location desired for text label
3. Find and type 'A' on keyboard
4. Point mouse to 'ok' button on Text dialog and click it.
5. Adjust label 'A' to desired location on chart
DONE! Well, not exactly. Repeat this two more times for points 'B' and 'C'!
That's 15 steps for one a-b-c! You must move from the keyboard to the mouse to the keyboard back to the mouse, so it's a real PITA. Multiply this by 4 or 5 charts, and it's not hard to see why I get sick of it... Also, I tend to erase them if they don't work out, because I like clean charts, so I have to add them all back again. I just don't bother... and that can cost me.
I'd like to be able to push a button and have an 'A', 'B' and 'C' pop onto the chart ready to move around.
Then, I'd like to push a button to make them disappear.
Another button would lay down the numbers 1-5 as separate drawings to be arranged on the chart. What's so hard about that! :-D
Let me know what you guys think, and if you have seen anything like this. Thanks!
forker
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I know it doesn't involve fancy indicators, lots of pretty colored lines, or a degree in mathematics...
But for us guys who don't use indicators, and do everything by hand, it's seriously a PITA day in and day out. You indicator guys have the computer do all the drawing for you. I'd like some help, too
Does anybody here use MTPredictor Sofware. If so, I would to get feed back on it.
More interested in its accuracy. Does the sofware really works as it promises? :)

But Learning to Dance in the Rain ! ! !
My idea is to label my own points, rather than have the computer do it for me (which I believe has a place, also). I think I have found the solution...
Guys, I discovered the GREATEST little tool for working with NT! And it's totally FREE!
It's a macro recording program called AUTOHOTKEY. You can find it here: www.autohotkey.com
Download the latest version in unicode. I am using XP, and have had no issues.
I have written three terrific little scripts that will lay down labels for you INSTANTLY.
The first script lays down "A B C". Then you can just position the labels where you like.
The second one lays down "1 2 3 4 5", and you can position the numbers where you like.
The third script removes them.
Highly recommended for people who TRADE ELLIOT WAVE OR ABC CORRECTIONS!
You would love them, but I can't figure out how to UPLOAD them for you... Anyone interested, please let me know how to do this, and I'll upload them for you. The extension is .ahk, and is reported as invalid by bigmikes forum
I really hope this helps people here who are sick of highly repetitive tasks while using NT. I even wrote a script for downloading market replay data! Have fun with AUTOHOTKEY!
I tried, but it didn't work. The files have a .ahk extension, but it is hidden from view, and I can't seem to find a way of revealing it on XP. When I tried adding ".zip", it looked fine until uploading. Then Big Mike's reported the file name as XXXX.zip.ahk, when it only is reported as XXXX.zip on my desktop. I tried changing file attributes, but was unable to resolve it...
You need an actual zip file ...
XP has Compressed folders, yes? Simply make a compressed folder, drop your file(s) into the compressed folder, and then upload the folder to futures.io (formerly BMT). A compressed folder is really a zip file so will have a zip extension.
BTW, under folder options you find a list of check boxes, one of which is "helpfully" hiding common extensions for you. I suggest unchecking that box and apply to all folders.
