If you're starting out or your system that you're working on is missing something, then it's worth taking a break and visiting one these carnival shows. Other than that, it's a waste of valuable time.

I very much agree, if you are meeting up with friends, etc.... then sure... otherwise, waste of time, best to go and take your significant other to a vacation and use the time that way...
i went to the one in NYC and it was such a waste of time... it was all marketing and mainly geared to noobs...

I am good with my personal trading, but met a number of good people, and learned a little. I think good for networking, and you never know when you will meet someone who could open 'doors' for you, whether it be trading related or not.
